N14 overhead set Tips and tricks

What is your take on using the dial indicator and the holder to back off the set bolt for the jakes? Looks like about $200 for the two.

 

Ten4. Will I need the holder for the dial indicater? Or how can I rig the dial indicator to stay still and get a good measurement?

As far as the c-brake gaskets, should I put hi-tack on the corners of the gasket?

 

View attachment 223639 Ok so I finally got the gaskets. Had to go on a scavenger hunt today to find them. Need a 7/16 12 point socket to get the jakes off. Got them off, more tomorrow hopefully. Ran out of sunlight today. Ended up using a pipe wrench to bar the motor over.
