    Not with an old farm truck.

    With an aerodynamic truck & a bit of work, you can realistically average 8-9mpg driving light loads on flat ground in a slow moving dry van. With all the gadgets & gizmos, half of MVT's fleet is able to get above 9 mpg by crawling along i10 & pissing off drivers...

    But with oil prices as cheap as they are, you're much better off concentrating on finding good paying freight & delivering it quickly.

    I drove a Road Boss with a 250 Super hauling fertilizer in Fla in the day our Louisville with the 671 did better.
