You can get the wiring harness for a couple hundred. They are easy to swap out. If the voltage gets to low it will shut it down. The engine position sensors have a tendency to leak oil thru the end and the oil runs down the wires causing issues. Sounds like you have a short.

We have a 93 t600 with a n14 and have had the same issues. Also had problems with the solenoids in the battery box that powers the harness. You want to be careful of shorts with a n14. It's real easy to pop the caps in the ecm. They are around 4k for a new one and around 2.5k for a reman.

Is it logging any codes, like 434?

i haven't had a chance to see the codes when they scanned it.

i plugged up the driver side fuel lines a few months ago because my tank had a small crack in it. but it seems right around that time is when it starting cutting off on me. the past week ive been keeping the tank above half full to see if it makes a difference. seems if it gets below that or near quarter full i get these problems. not sure if its related but im kinda itching to get the other tank connected back

Hmm, usually a fuel problem like that, possibly sucking air, the engine will run really bad momentarily, sputter, surge, all that stuff. When the engine does cut out, does just die all of a sudden, or does it run rough first?

thats the same thing i was thinking. almost like when a fuel filter is getting clogged.

but with this, it just sputters a bit then shuts down. doesnt really feel like its gasping for fuel. although, when i go to crank it back up, it turns on then i can feel it sputtering like it wants to turn off then eventually does

That sounds more like a fuel problem.
