ok got engine in and it started right up but no throtle or tach
checked voltage at tps and there is no 8 volts and there is no sensor in the bell housing for tach signal
i pulled the motor out of a stearling its a 550hp 1lw everything worked in that truck so how else would it read
a tach signal if theres no dang sensor? i dont have anykind of scan tool can i check codes without a scaner?
and if the eng shutdown light and check eng light is on will it kill the throtle voltage?

E models read RPM from the cam sensor. Your tachometer needs to be wired through the ECM. I have a 40 pin diagram at home. I'll be there later and post if you want.

ya that would be great thanks

Cats use a different throttle pedal sensor than a Cummins. You might have to change that too.

Ran into the same tach issue ur having when doing my swap...catpowerc15 is right cat read off the ecm but in ur case cummins uses the bell housing so ur tech is wired that way.... when u pulled the n14 out shoulda been a sensor in the housing with a 2 wire plug......should b able 2 take sensor outta cummins and put it in the cat housing and plug it into existing OEM harness.......as far as the throttle peddle need to get a cat tps and wiring harness will bolt right up 2 existing peddle.....

Accidentally hit the post button..... hope this helps.....if u need more wiring info I reccomend Ed Mawk at Mawk Industry's... he's very knowledgeable and helpful........

well i got it running right had the tps sensor hooked to the wrong plug
now just for the rest of the crap and getting tach working thanks for the replysHeavyd Thanks this. -
Good to hear. These are just minor bugs to work out with a major swap out like yours. Something always hangs up, nicer to deal with minor issues like this rather than an engine that won't even crank over or fire. You're almost there!!!
