Navigation being installed

Easier than you think. Most of this stuff is relatively easy. Just that there is a lot and your new, so it seems overwhelming.

This is true. And one thing that I have always done is researched my way. Drives the wife crazy

 

This Co-Pilot draws from the "Fuel Stop and Directions" provided from planning. I have been running the co-pilot along side of my Rand and for the most part it follows. However, I think that planning needs to improve their routing messages so it doesn't confuse the program. I am with Scott on the Rand though, I find it extremely useful in planning my nightly stops along the route and down to the last few minutes. I think with a little fine tuning on the routing plans and with the drivers it will become a useful tool, just like the Atlas, GPS and the Cell Phone.

 

I am excited about starting my class 4/28. Do you think it would be worth the money to buy a truck driving gps, I currently use a nuvi but don't have an option for truck routing. I also have an atlas and smartphone with plenty of driving apps. I think I am so excited to start it can't get he fast enough.

 

I didn't have any gps when I started driving, first gps I had came from my last company. It was a local gig, and when they replaced their old ones they let me keep it. So took that with me when I came to Roehl. I think it was an old garmin car version too. Now I just got the Rand 5xx version.

 

Disagree with this statement. There are electronic devices out there that save time and assist in getting from point A to point B. Using one of these devices doesn't mean you aren't just as qualified to drive a truck as someone that pages through an atlas to plot their course.

 

Well, I figure it's one of two things. Someone just wants to stir stuff up, or was trained/grew up with an older driver and it was drilled into them that all the new fangled lectronical stuff is a bunch of hooey, and you ain't no real driver if you use it.
Of course it that was the case, you might as well just use the stars to track your route.
