I've never used any of these. But if you do any night driving, make sure the screen isn't so big and that you can reduce the brightness to a bare minimum. ...and easy to replace power cables.otherwise, Atlas and Google for longhauls.

Any Rand McNally product you get will work. I've still got a 510. As long as it has lifetime maps and you update it, it will serve you well. I use it mostly for when all my trip planning goes down the toilet and I need a plan Z (something you will find that happens regularly in this buissness) and I need a new place to stop.

I got mine on eBay for120 with mount. The old ones have issues with charge cords. They have to be just right so keep that in mind. Garmin I hear is pretty good, there are others but I would only recommend RM because it has served me well.

Google Maps and an atlas for me. Plus I run the same areas most of the time. I had, actually still have it in the bunk, a RM. I bought it thinking that it would be nice to see remaining miles, eta and stuff. I always had it set to shortest but I never knew how it would route me. I found a lot of the skinny roads in the Midwest for some reason are listed as restricted that have no restrictions on them at all other than maybe seasonal weight limits in the spring. I brought issues up with the tech guy on here but never heard back. So it's in the bunk.

    This is a good suggestion.

If you prefer to go the pre-loaded route the J.J. Keller Compliance Tablet now includes CoPilot Truck GPS.

CoPilot Truck GPS is developed by ALK and uses the same routing engine as their core software, PC*Miler.

I attended the ALK Transportation Technology Summit last year and came away very impressed with their products.

Go with any of the TND series. I have the 730 and love it. You really dont need the tnd tablet unless you just want it for the tablet functionality. I have used a few of the brands and I think the Rand's are really the only way to go. Mine is very accurate, doesnt glitch out, and 99 percent of the time keeps me on roads that are truck friendly. The routes it gives me are usually spot on with my dispatches, which makes sense because I do believe some fleets use some sort of rand navigation for routing miles.
