    No! The after treatment system will keep you in the shop. We just had to have the trans rebuild on one with only has 289 thousand on it. Once the warrenty runs out it's big buck out of pocket. Our fleet has many 2010-2012 and all of them have problems. We are in the process of International buying them back.

    I feel for the techs that work on these engines. They are the ones that have to face the o/o and fleet managers who are frustrated by the amount of shop/down time these trucks have. I've talked with our dealership guy several times about this. I think it's important for him to know we understand it's not him or his people doing poor work, it's the engine design. While some of the trucks share common problems, each one also seem to have their own set of quirks. As a driver I notice things and let him know, A,B, then C happened and that's why I'm here, he's been open to that information and it's been helpful. It helped solved one issue with water getting into the harness on the exhaust stack because I noticed about 12 hours after it rained the check engine light would come on.

    Thanks for the replies, kinda what I figured................will keep looking. Got a 2007 Peterbilt with over a million miles, paid top dollar, money pit. What the heck is out there that is worth paying big dollars for?????

    Fitzgerald glider kit 12.7 pre egr Detroit. best friends boss just put him in one. They are a good choice if you don't run California.
