There are benefits to getting your ### out of America now and then. There are things to do and ..drinks, foods and People to enjoy without Killjoy Uncle Cold Fish Sam raining on our parades with the overbearing land of "No" laws rather than allowing us the Freedom to Pursue happiness.

Even Von Braun furthered his work with deaths of thousands and thousands of slave laborers, that worked in deplorable conditions, until they simply died.
I don't recall anyone sharing any technology in the work that created the atom bomb. That was just the most labor intensive project in history. And nobody got worked to death.
Advances in science take time, and money. Lots of it. Research has shown the Nazis funded better than 30% of their efforts in that period of time with seized assets. My family has documents showing my Uncles & Grandfathers serving in wars back to the Civil War, nobody got their teeth pulled out and fillings melted down, to finance a fancy staff car.
Your just never gonna convince me of the Dr. Strangeglove point of view that they made kind of positive contribution to world history.

Yes we are in a society in which inreasing numbers of People are not willing to think beyond a twitter post or two. I find increasing numbers of books written in the Civil War Era being left on the library table unread because more and more people are not willing to endure (Their words) the old english writing style.

There are times People will pick on me about my own writings most of the time they do not understand that english is my second language. American Sign Language or more precisely Gallaudet and LeCleric who came to America after witnessing Deaf and Mute plus other Handicapped People in slave conditions of industry with just enough language to execute orders that will eventually kill them. The Sanitariums were full of potential replacements. These two founded a deaf school based on a sign language most young deaf today find a bore, a long winded waste of everyone's time and best discarded. It will be a interesting evolution to see a language change in my life time because people get tired, restless and then flat unwilling to use critical thinking skills among others to communicate.

I for one follow everything I can here because there is so much even today; still to learn. Not all of it will be nice or decent. And some will be attacks which I find to be a waste of everyone's time and easy to eliminate with a ignore list best maintained and kept up to date so that the forums's other People sharing information that is valuable are protected and no one gets lost in the shuffle. Ultimately the Moderators are the heavies when things get out of hand online.

If you visited any news paper online and noticed some of them are closing comments section entirely. The Scotland Yard just begun a 2 million pound effort, ok ok ok.. 1.7 million pounds. to establish a Thought Crime Police Task Force to go after Trolls and those who commit Thought Crimes against another online. And jail same.

Around 1100 saliors are buried with the USS Arizona. You could still see a light sheen Of bunker fuel on the water when I was there in 1993.

Had an uncle stationed on a destroyer during the attack on Pearl Harbor, but he made it back from WWII. Lived to be 98.

 

Plus the sailors on board the USS Utah (the forgotten memorial), plus the sailors left on the USS Oklahoma (pulled out after the war, sunk about 100 miles N by NE of Hawai'i, very interesting story).

Plus all the other soldiers, sailors, Marines, and Army Air men (not to mention the medical staff and civilians) who lost their lives in that single attack.

Is it any wonder why the US, once roused, offered out a truly EPIC butt whooping after the events of December 7, 1941? Like, epic on a world shaking scale?
