    Well I screwed up between being busy, and family, (no excuse I know) I forgot to renew my license. Thankfully caught it and it’s only a couple weeks past. My question is has anyone been successful in walking into a NC DMV and being helped? There are no appts in my area, besides for Monday and it’s 87 miles from the house, meanwhile there’s 1 13 miles from the house in town, of course they don’t answer. Thank you for any help

    I let mine lapse way way back during my tweaking days. I was 2 weeks late, I walked in to the local office without any issues.

    Before you waste a trip to their office you might want to check their website FAQ's for any documents you might need to bring with you.

    Most of the time if you go in the mornings they will help you . I know my local one told me flat out that they will actually push CDL folks ahead of the non appointment line- and no you are not required to have an appointment, as long as you're not there for a road test. Good Luck!

    thank you, exactly my plan. I haven’t been in a years since 2017. I know for a while it was appt only. Just wanted to see if anyone has actually been in the last few months. Truly appreciate your response.

    Who'da thunk it - that it actually helps to have Gold Ol' Boyz in high places?

    You gotta figure that the sight of all them yankees and tiny hats and pajeets wanting to pollute the Ol' North State makes them nauseous.

    the Raleigh main office actually answers the phone!!

    really! I couldn't find an appt anywhere for months after my license expired and called the main office, they told me you actually have 2yrs to renew, with no problems.

    2 yrs!!! and I was freakin' out over a month. lol
