    Another educator is complaining about the "virgin Mary" story, saying it shouldn't be used any more because she didn't give consent to be impregnated.

    Another story had, she said if you turn the candy cane upside down, it makes the letter "J" which stand for Jesus.
    Origin of candy cane
    As legend has it, the origin of the candy cane appears to stem back to Cologne, Germany around 1670. A clergyman and choirmaster purportedly had given hard white candy, with one end shaped into a "crook", to pacify anxious children during church services.
