The problem is that so many companies buckle under as soon as CRST threatens them with legal action. So they just cut the new hires loose and avoid the hassle. Not like they are losing a proven driver at that point.
There have been several on here looking for jobs because CRST had gotten them fired. Unfortunately, most of these people are just starting out and don't have the resources to take CRST to court on this.

They struggle to get guys to stay. If they let guys bid for runs and dedicate them to those, a lot more would stick around. Veteran drivers like me would be happy because we get our favorite runs, and the noobs would stick around because they know as they stay runs get better/pay more.
Right now my gravy run is in Michigan. It pays because it has like 20 pick ups, but very low miles. I would rather drive the truck, but I do it. Other runs pay better but in miles and much less labor. Rookies dont do well with so many stops, they get behind and a run like that it gets ugly pretty quick. Or 20 stops they might hit something I guess.
The runs to Oregon, Washington, Vegas, and Idaho are the best ones in my opinion. They have the most driving. I dont think Ive gotten any of those all year. I get Pheonix in the summer, and Michigan in the winter. LOL
In MI right now. Fortunately is been a mild winter so far. But really Id like a big mile week and then Ill do Michigan. That way I get to drive. Seems fair to me, being one of their veterans and all.
If we worked something out where I got Oregon, then Vegas or Idaho, the Michigan every month Id probably just stay until I am able to retire, or until I get kicked off the road. Thats comparable wage to the R&L team drivers. 2000-2500 per week. I would not quit that. -

Have you talked to your dispatch? On linehaul side, I know of a guy who runs from Stockton - Atlanta then Atlanta back to Stockton, and if he wants down to Dundee, Fl and back while waiting for his back load.
Our dispatchers try to work with us. We usually get a call asking us what load we want, when multiple are leaving the terminal. We usually stay mid west to East coast during the winter and summer we are all over. (We requested to run more East coast, do to MIL lives in Fl by herself)
We aren't leaving FFE in the foreseeable future. They treat us well.
