You are going to need to learn how to sit.
3 weeks aint much. But once you are rolling and making paychecks losing even a day will hurt you. Learning to wait on shippers etc is a valuable skill. Wife and I once had three dispatchers tell us to get to Americold in Salinas ASAP hot, and ended up sitting almost 3 days. It will never happen again. Ever. Such ########.

Any info on prime? Would it be likely to be able to start dry van with them and then slide into their tanker side? I haven't heard too much bad about them, other than their trucks are rolling roadblocks.

I know that feeling. Luckily I knew ahead of time while I was still employed that I was going o make this switch so I gave myself about 4 months of penny pinching to make sure I had enough to get me through school and orientation. Really wanted to make the move sooner but knew that financially it just wasn't gonna happen.

From all I have read on here it seems the general consensus is to stay away from Prime and Swift. -

Gonna be going with Schneider on a dedicated Walmart account pulling reefer. Gotta get through school which starts Tuesday and goes 4 weeks. Then orientation which is another 3 weeks then I'm on my own traveling within 200 mi. of the DC near me.
