as long as the load is not over 53 feet. As far as overhang it varies state to state but usually is 3 to 4 feet
-
You can have a front overhang as well if you're tractor is long enough, I haul 60 foot rebar from time to time and some states are good with just flags on the end or flags and lights on the ends and some states require permits and oversize signs.
You'll really have to check with the local DOT. -
And make sure you get the LATEST set of rules and tell them the route you are planning to take , local regulations also come into affect at times that cost BIG $ if fined.

quick answer............
Yes,
It varies by location,
You're welcome. -
When I ran flats i was always told 4 ft off the back but the tail and brake lights had to be visible also
-
I love these people that shoot from the hip and know absolutely zero!
Illinois you can go either 90' or 100' overall length before requiring a permit. -
Yes and in Oregon if rear overhang exceeds 25 feet, the permit will specify the requirement of a rear pilot vehicle for travel on any portion of a non-interstate multi-lane highway when the normal route to the destination requires the combination to exit the multi-lane portion of such highway;
So like before CHECK with the powers to be in the AREA your going to travel if not sure of the RULES.
