Don't y'all think you're being a little harsh here? Guy is in a tight spot and isn't whining--just asking for help.
I'll admit I know nothing about Swift and even less about training scenarios--but it doesn't seem unreasonable to me for you to ask for a small advance--and jump on the bus over to Tally--how much could that cost?
    just my $.02

I admit I might be a bit harsh. However, if I lived in TLH, I would be more than happy to give him a ride. I however do not. The reality is sometimes we have to do thing we do not like to do. I would think Swift would route a driver to take him to the DC in Lake City rather than make him take the dog. To the op, I understand where your coming from. If anyone is willing to help him $30 ought to be enough for gas. If I am being harsh, I apologize.

    Lake City?

Back in my day...the only Swift terminal in FL was Ocala...did that change?

I don't think you were being harsh....and I don't think our OP thought so either...he was going right along with the ribbing....I am sure he understood we weren't attacking him.

Wonder why Swift/Mentor couldn't go a few miles out of direct route, or set up the Mentor with a load to get the rig through the area. Just thinking out loud!

That is what I am thinking as well. He said Lake City is his final which means his trainer is on the Target dedicated route out of there. Just my .02 opinion. There has to be Swift trucks going through his area to Lake City.

Edit: Lake city is only 106 miles 123456. Not that far in my opinion.

    KH,

If you leave Tallahassee going West to Lake City,

    it's a whole lot more than 106 miles !!!!!!

    Closer to 25000 miles !!!!!
