Regardless, a PRUDENT driver does not go full-throttle over a blind hilltop, blind curve, etc. I've ran across many situations similar to this, and so have TENS of THOUSANDS of other drivers and not had an accident. WE had 'situational awareness' while he did not. Insurance companies look at a guy like this and see a major risk; drivers who don't pay attention cost them money.
At this point, ONLY those companies desperate for drivers (regardless of the risk assessment) will even consider this guy, and with freight the way it is today even THEY might pass. Beggars can't be choosers, and he ain't got much going for him at this point. Western Express might take a risk on a guy with a record for domestic assault before they would on a guy who has already wrecked a truck. The guy who went to prison probably does not want to go back there, but the guy who just doesn't pay attention will still not be paying attention.... -
wow, I guess they must’ve had hundreds of our truck accidents in that spot then. You’d figure with 100s of accidents in that location they change something

If I wasn't paying attention I'd have slaughtered that school bus. What I did do is have a lapse in judgement and lack of knowledge about the roads I was on due to not having much experience with highways like the one I was on. Most of my driving has been interstate driving with exception to my NYC driving. I should definitely have been driving with more care considering my lack of knowledge on the area but hindsight is 20/20 and I certainly wouldn't be making the same mistake again.tscottme Thanks this.

There was a highway worker on scene assessing the damage to the road/median while I was there waiting on the officers to let me go. He said they've come by and filled the median many times already and the city just has no intention of fixing the issue. Idk about hundreds of truck but the man said there have been multiple rolls and car wrecks in the same spot which is uncommon on its own. Typically if something happens in an area that is atypical then something is wrong. I'm sure you know full well how bureaucrats work in government. They build bridges that go nowhere but can't seem to ever find the money to fill a pothole.

Update: Got a small company less than 10 trucks to hire me on, will have to be on a truck teaming with a trainer for 4 months but it's an opportunity so I'll take it.
