Today i failed the skills portion of the cdl test at the DMV for the fourth time . I "attended" Daly's Truck School in Buford, GA. Starting to feel like the worst decision i made in life. After first fail , took them 2 weeks to reschedule me to go back out and during that time i couldn't retrain in the yard (only to pre-trip , passed 1st try.) 2nd time failed offset , ($50 wasted) , no additional training , only to pretrip and watch , was called to go to dds days before scheduled before noon, only to go and fail again on offset ( $100 in ). 3rd fail , by protocol "your scheduled a training time" w/ an instructor . Trained maybe 4 hrs. these people expect you to be able to shut down providing for your family as if you didn't for 3 weeks to meet the hours required, all to comeback and train 10 hrs. ( 1 hr is pre-trip.. passed 1st try..didn't need it.) Long story less long failed then offset , and today parallel (we've blown 150 bucks we'll never see again). Frustrated beyond belief , bills very past due , working odd jobs , losing money etc. i need an alternative method of getting my License. I have permits , and have passed everything @ Dalys ironically , cant pass at DMV. Dalys train in old raggedy trucks but TEST in a newer smoother one, The DMV setup completely different from Dalys ,and was told at DMV 80% of their students dont pass. I tested with a guy who'd done it 8 time prior and i dont have that type of money , barely have any determination left. Im willing to go anywhere for my license. Prime and Schneider wont touch me being that Dalys in on my DAC report as attending or not finished and im hoping i can go a different route.. All advice is much appreciated

    My advice...
Since schooling stresses you out so much, move on with life.
Trucking is a very stressful career the first couple of years. If you cannot handle schooling what makes you think you will be able to handle something when you are 2,000 miles away?

Contact your State. Tell them you have been enmeshed in a bad school and have the state refer you to a vocational program designed to mint truckers with a CDL.

Schools and DMV are two different things. The DMV is what you need to pass.

As a side note, any time you are told to sit here and just watch at a school yard? RUN. What are you doing man? Go somewhere else. How many times must a bad school pretend to accomodate you for a few dollars here and there?

It's really really hard to be such a bad student as to fail a trucking school at the DMV.

Forget the 150 for the moment. Prepare yourself to see thousands possible go bye bye now and then in trucking. If you are that emotional over 150, I cannot imagine what you would be when faced with the possibility you will be charged 300 dollars for a unauthorized use of the PA turnpike in a big truck.

Sygma Network - Driver Helper - you ride in the truck and help the driver unload. This isn't what you really want, but it's a job and you can save money and try cdl school again.

Why even mention Daly's school to any potential employer? You weren't a paid employee so it's no ones business.

My question is, why is a Cdl school reporting to DAC? obviously is looks like they are black balling/ ripping off their students for additional money cut they can't teach very well.

That's what I'm thinking. I wouldn't say anything about attending the school. Just say he's looking for a new career and now he's doing menial jobs to get by.
I doubt Daly's even files anything with DAC since students aren't employees. Don't say anything about attending the school.
