Just because you can not understand some thing makes it wrong? Sorry , this is not helping the OP here. Besides what would you accept as proof? No matter what I produced you would say I made to support my side. Grow up , stop messing in your pants.

Used truck values are rising, the new ones are far more expensive than they used to be. Spend time on the truck paper. Pardon me , I seem to attracted some kid to your thread. Was not my intent!

The make is not as near as important as the drive line. But aerodynamics do play a big role also. Good luck. -

Hogwash. Going 70mph vs 60mph will get you about 30mins further per day than it will me. And that also depends on your log book. If you got E-logs, then yeah it IS in your best interest to fly down the road and gogogogogo because you don't have any time for anything else.
But if you don't, you just average your miles out, or you just drive until you get to where you need to be, and just log it legal.
If you're just starting your day and are empty, why would you take an 800-1000 mile load? Anything over 700miles is a 2 day job, and I think you should charge accordingly for 2 days worth of work, and if you can't, then find a shorter load. Getting $200 less on a 600mile load compared to a 900 mile load, you will make up for that the next day when you can take 2 loads instead of 1, or you will only be able to take a 500 mile load the next day. And then it keeps snowballing until you're only making 3 loads in a week. For example, it makes no sense to take a 1000 mile load on thursday morning, unless you're planning to sit for the weekend.
Anyways, the bottom line is time management. If you feel you have to go faster to make more money, then I think you're probably managing your time wrong. You're trying to make your time fit into your work, instead of choosing work that will fit into your time. I don't think it's possible to come out ahead this way.
The only reason I think there is to go 70mph or faster is if you're running late and you think the extra 5-10min will save your butt, or if you're just in a funky mood and want to feel the wind in your hair for a little bit, and that's worth more to you than the money wasted.rollin coal and Elroythekid Thank this. -

I drove from Cheyenne to Lincoln and got 14 mpg with a 50 mph tailwind and 15k on. First liar does'nt have a chance. People will tell you all sorts of crap but the truth is . You can only average about 7 mpg. These people will zero the computer when they start downhill at Cheyenn and 0 it again in Lincoln and tell you their mileage is fantastic and they by $3.00 fuel too. My Peterbilt 379 with a 500 Cat averaged 6 MPG Wbnd from Balt-Sea Sea to Balt 7 mpg. That's over 430,000 miles and I ran hard. I did 75 out west because if you do 55 I'm going 200 miles per day about half the year say 150 days a year would equal 30,000 miles further at 1.56/ mile and do the math. I sure did rock some Swift and Schneider trucks going by too. They'd be doing 30 MPH halfway up a hill and I'd be doing 60.I don't know how these people do their math but I made enough to payoff my truck and trailer and all the insurance and fuel and tires and etc and managed to get a tax bill for 40,000 from the feds. Get a large car, talk to people who own them. Run it like a business and ahve $20,000.00 in the bank before you buy and get a helluva tax man.
2saint Thanks this.
