i had called them, but they mandated elogs, i didnt get any further in that discussion -
RWD, I apologize but I never saw this post. I usually log on and check my subscriptions and don't really roam around very often here any longer. PM me next time or give me a call and I'll be happy to help how I can. In the future, first and foremost take notes on EVERYTHING. Also, get it in writing on your trip contract about shipments being refused. Normally, we just call our customer and pay you to turn around and take it back to the shipper. I can't believe this "agent" got away with paying you $150.
Next, keep Jennifer, Lena, and Bobbi in CS on your speed dial. Those three girls are the best Customer Service folks I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. They really need to be awarded a "Star Quality" pin because they usually go the extra mile anytime I need them. They are all professional, to the point, and give me none of the crap.
Now, that said, next time, politely inform the agent you're taking the freight back and if you have to unload it yourself you're charging extra. Make sure you get Customer Service on the phone with said agent so you have a non-partisan witness to all of the hijinx they try to pull.scottied67, Lenrod, rwdfinch50 and 1 other person Thank this. -
The real issue here was that they would not authorize me to take it back, and they kept passing the buck around while I was stuck with it.
Thankfully, it's over with. Now, I just have to try to get some kind of compensation for all my trouble. Everything is documented, but I'm afraid I'm out of luck. Hope not. -

RWD, howd you make out ever get anything out of this deal? did you atleast get paid for the back haul?

Sounds like either brokered or 3pl freight which is the growing norm here anymore, don't know anything about CAP agency. Problem is the agency might be decent but some of their people might suck...I would contact the actual owner of the agency and run your issue by them to see what kind of response you get.....I have found most owners don't have a full grasp on every little thing that happens day to day but usually more than appreciate the job us BCO's do for them and will want to do what is neccessary to make things right......if they don't then you know they are bums and you don't want to work for them anyway.
landstar8891 Thanks this. -
