In looking at a local flatbed job hauling drywall around 500 miles at .44 a mile, they even include a $500 sign on bonus. I've had my license 16 months and they are asking for a years experience. I've spent my time hauling aluminum on a curtain side, I enjoyed it but it has slowed to 30 hours or less a week and I have bills to pay. Does this sound like a decent job the hours don't seem bad and I don't mind driving to Vegas.
Need advice on a job

I don’t think it sounds bad. Especially like you said your current job is goin downhill at the moment. Worst case is this doesn’t pan out either, heck you were lookin for a job when you found this one! They’ll be others. Don’t be afraid to take a gamble to better yourself.

Looks like your going from one
Seasonal job to another.Bonzo Thanks this. -
You going to get hourly for the time you spend waiting to load said drywall in Vegas? You'll probably spend more time at PABCO or GP than driving back and forth to Vegas.

Would only take that if it paid by hour.
Your wait times for loading and unloading could be very long most of the time. Would also want a curtain or connie for the job.Bonzo Thanks this. -
Mileage is a screw job but it’s worse in that type of situation.

Unless most of your work is driving, getting paid mileage (do they pay for loading/unloading?) isn't what you want for a regional job. If it's pin-to-pin, you might have found the gravy train though.

What’s the rest of the pay structure? If it’s just mileage with no pay for strapping or tarping I wouldn’t do it.
Bonzo Thanks this.
