I appreciate it, sure do need em... Hoping it'll be an easy fix but I always brace myself for the worst.. As long as I make it down to the shop about 50 miles or so that'll take a lot of the sting out.. Couldn't have happened with a "worse" customer every load this place ships was supposed to go out yesterday it seems. At least a friend of mine is able to bobtail up and finish it out for me.

It's that new engine..... -
I wish it was... that's got a warranty.. go figure LoL
-
new engine put more power to the tranny.
worn in tranny, new engine with more power....
May as well have them go over the u-joints and the rear ends as well.
Domino effect going down the drive line.
Snowwy talks about how bad his truck is killing him.
When I do my own engine, I had planned for the entire driveline to be done. Yeah, it'll be $35-40K.
But the truck will be "new" from CAC to Drives. -
Actually the engine has less power now. I downsplit at places where I used to never have to before the overhaul. It used to be a hoss now it's just an average motor at best.. All 5 ujoints were replaced with Spicers less than 200K miles ago, they're in fine shape. What I suspect may have contributed this "soon to be failure" was a badly missed low to high range shift last week.... one of those where it made the teeth gnashing sounds clanking sounds as it popped out of gear... I don't do that much but it does happen once in a while no-one's perfect...
MNdriver Thanks this. -
Oh I hear you there. I popped a gear like that in the mountains a couple weeks back. Even did it double clutching it.
It makes me cringe and just sick to my gut. -
mamamullins Thanks this.

I get so tired of telling myself that.
RedForeman Thanks this. -
people flash there ecms all the time for more power.
i haven't heard anyone say they've had to beef up the driveline.
not that i'm saying it's not recommended. specially with high miles. -
