Need advice on getting CDL, legally blind in one eye.

    Took so many physicals, the eye chart was the exact same at every doctor's office I did mine at, and the line they ask you to read? I have it memorized, it's D E F P O T E C.
    Used to kid around with them after reading that line and say, ok down at the very bottom there it says "made in CHINA" was good for a laugh. Had one nurse though, she actually was looking for that on the chart for about 5 seconds until I told her I was joking.

    That permit you got is federal. They have to give you your CDL, as federal law supercedes state laws.

    Only if you have 20/40.
    Even your regular license requires that.

    The medical examiner giving me my DOT only looked at whether the eye doc said I had sufficient eyesight to operate a CMV,and passed me.

    Nah, even after several years of improving their reputation, JB Hunt seems to be back to being a laughingstock of the industry....

    That's what they do with me as well... There are a lot of medical examiners, however, that still don't know anything about this new law
