The US Marshalls and the Swat Team are too busy looking for the US Secret Service U-Haul that was stolen in Detroit.

Keep in mind the broker is not required to pay detention time unless it is stated in the load and rate agreement that you or your dispatcher signed.

Keep in mind what the Bible says and call down plagues on them.

You're supposed to park across the driveway before you call in the marshals.

OP you got a good offer. Count your blessings and move on. A shipper not far up the road detained us overnight on two Thursday loads in a month. The $250 layover pay didn't come close to the loss of a Friday reload over the weekend that was the moneymaker. Any other day of the week and it wouldn't have been as much of a problem. The first time, the broker got the benefit of the doubt. Trucking happens. After the second time, we just don't go there anymore.

The broker is one of my best customers and gets it. We still haul a lot for them and there was no issue with my decision. I'm sure he has 10 other carriers lined up to do that one. Let them have it. There's too many better shippers around to waste time on that loser.

How come we hear the stories but never see anything but the angry driver getting nothing?

Funny thing back when I was a rookie I fell for this one and threatened it - other drivers at the groc receiver busted out laughing. :biggrin_25512: :biggrin_25523:
