yes and yes. they have a huge terminal in Atlanta. you will need your HAZMAT endorsement too. you can go ahead and apply for it, get it done. takes abotu a month after you take the test at the DMV and go for the fingerprinting. check with the DMV. they will tell you what hoops you need to jump through.

they would be your best bet. that is who i went with directly after school. check out the crete section in the DAC reports. many explanations there on the physical test you have to take and what your first 3 days will be like. HINT: you will need your HAZMAT, but if you go with the Shaffer side, the chances you will ever pull a hazmat load are slim to none. it can happen, but you should be safe. that is, unless you dont like reffer loads. i personally did not mind it one bit.

    good luck!

the only problem i see is that the school you attended is not on the approved school list. however, that list could be outdated. give them a call.

I'll keep that in the backburner because it'll be far from where I'm looking to relocate to. Schneider answered me on an app I put for their tanker division in Savannah, Ga. They just told me they can't really get the interview done until I graduate from the 320Hr Training Course I'm going to now, which is this coming Tuesday. Anyone have any experience with this? I'm a real pessimist so, I'm not going to get my hopes up until they say I'm actually hired.

Realistically you are looking at 4 weeks out then 4 days home. I suppose you could do 2 weeks/2days. I normally stay out 6-7 weeks at a time, but I like making money.

They do have some other options like dedicated runs and agent carriers that might keep you closer to home.
