Not sure were you are currently working... but keep in mind Stevens is a training company and the pay is not competitive... if you have experience and depending on wetter you live... I would call Robert Heath in Dallas...good luck in your career...

I've got bus experience, not OTR. Stevens is willing to take me, and no word from Star yet. Pretty sure I'll give notice and ship off to Stevens school in 2 weeks at this point...
-
If u r going OTR does it really matter where u go as long as it fits u r needs. i will give u my recruiters name at PRIME
GRACE but u can fill out an application at driveforprime.com
TELL GRACE Bev P sent u...aka the short one from PA lol if u need anything else let me know -
I just put an app in at Prime. Found out today that my daughter needs knee surgery, so not putting in 2 weeks notice just yet. Now looking at the following class 12/29 if I end up going with Stevens. Quick question - once I decide, would there be any benefit of taking my Combination test before going to school? Knowing that I already have my CDL and medical card, just thinking I could speed the process along if I pass the one test I need before I get to class...
-
I think there maybe away around it though -
I know for sure that Stevens school is in Sterling Heights, Michigan, since that is where they told me they would send me. I figured since it was in state, it made sense for me to take the test before going. I actually took that test once before, 2 years ago, when I lived in Minnesota, and was considering trucking. Never followed through on getting my CDL-A at that time though.
-
Being in the same state it might save you a few days as you wont be in the line to go take the tests. If you have the meand to do it first can't hurt i dont think. I know here in Indiana you have to do the driving to upgrade so need truck and trailer.

When I was in MN, since I have a CDL-B, the "combination" test was basically the learners permit for a CDL-A. Can't seem to find out online if that's the way it works in MI, so will try to stop by the Secretary of State tomorrow to find out.
-
Plan is when I go to get my photo for class A I will take the HAZMAT test.
Dave ----moose97 Thanks this. -
Thanks FuzzFace. I was thinking the same thing - combo, D&T and tanker. Only thing keeping me from getting HazMat right now is the added cost, and no real sure need.
