If you want to team with your husband, you might give Covenant a call. Another would be US Xpress. Both are based in Chattanooga, TN. Most carriers who do training will require you to sign a contract where you agree to work for them for a certain amount of time or repay the cost of your training. For most training carriers it is 1 year. CRST did only require a 6 months commitment at one time. Other carriers who do training that you might check with are Millis and Roehl. I believe Millis has a training facility in Cartersville, GA, just north of Atlanta. I would think that all of those companies that I mentioned would hire out of West Virginia.
To be truthful, you can hear negatives about any carrier. I always take anything that is said about any carrier with a grain of salt. If you live near a truck stop, you might consider going by and spending the day and talk to drivers about their company. See who is coming into the truck stop. Most drivers are willing to talk with you and share their experience with you.
Starting out, your most important goal should be to get your CDL and some experience. These CDL schools mostly just train you enough to get your CDL. The real training comes once you get on the road. You should also be aware that you and your husband may be required to train with different trainer for anywhere from a few weeks to a few months before putting you together. Once you get a year or two of experience behind you, both of you will be able to go pretty much anywhere you wish.
One other thing, if you do go by a truck stop, you might pick up some of the trucking magazines. They are full of recruitment ads. Good luck.KandeeKane9 Thanks this. -

Yes well we have been married seven years and I see him about twice a month now so that is not a big deal. Roehl is not hiring people from here and they were not nice to me when telling me this.
I have heard many tales from many different drivers. Truth is I'm responsible I do not want to be to blame for a year of the worst treatment possible. I'm a country girl I can deal. Hubby isn't country so a little more difficult -
Averitt has teams but you just don't see or hear much of them. Also I have made quite a few runs with them to WV on TL. On TL I pretty much only run 31 States. Give them a call.
