I looked at all the companys on your list when I was in your position. Con-Way Truckload had the best pay as a student and through the first year. Also the best pay-back on educational assistance. So I went there thinking that after a year I could look around and find the big bucks. Haven't found better and still there. Our dry vans stay busy. Good luck!

You mentioned Con-Way Freight (otr). To get otr in Conway Freight, you start on the dock, then do local pick up and delivery, then graduate to line-haul. (Their version of otr)

Be careful. A year of experience there, with pup trailers, and mostly dock or local, may not make you hireable for whatever you are looking for. Con-Way Truckload is true over the road. Evaluate and understand the differences so that you don't job hop.

Your right, Con-Way truckload is what I ment. I spoke to the recruiter a couple of days ago, he said that it was near impossible to get on with C.W. Freight. He said that a person could be on the dock for a very long time. The information on the dry vans is helpful regarding staying busy.

I have been leaning towards Conway. I want to stay with a company, if possible for the "long-haul". The information and your personal experience helps to validate what I have been thinking.

    Thanks!
