Missouri, but they also have a training facilty in Salt lake city UT. They will buy your bus ticket to get you there but after my experience Id sugest renting a car or getting a plane. Greyhound left a group of us stranded and we had to rent a car just to get here.

Prime will reimburse you up to $280 I think it is for travel if you dont take a bus.. did I say greyhoud sucks...

Forget Greyhound I'd ride a bicycle before taking them. I've had good experiences with Amtrak but limited lanes in The South

Friendly suggestion: start driving your personal vehicle as professionally and safely as possible. Lots of young ones in here with speeding tickets and what not before even getting their CDL.
You are a professional driver 24/7, 365. Good luck on your endeavors!

Get all endorsements and a twic and you will be more valuable to potential employers. Do it before going to school.

Im not sure about other states but I know for Pime in Missouri they can no longer transfer out of state med cards and cdl permits. If you dont have a Missouri permit you have to get one.

Might be different in other states but it was changed in the last year for Missouri.

You can work outside of your CDL state all year long. I work for a a company in Oklahoma. Yet my CDL is from my home state. I maintain that home address. Yet my Oklahoma company gave me an unneeded extra DOT physical from Oklahoma. I already was current on that. I heard the company paid physicals are so they are certain you are always up to date.

You will have a Michigan CDL. After training, the trucking company you train with will route you home to Michigan so you can visit the DMV and switch your new cdl to a Michigan CDL. You have to do this because your domicile is in Michigan.
Schneider and Roehl Transport have cdl school in Gary,Indiana, that's close to Michigan.

If a community college is an option for you whether it be financing or grants I'd go ahead and be getting in the program. Having an intrastate permit is not gonna hurt you while you're in school, and by the time you're done you'll be 21 and able to test for a interstate CDL. I got mine when I was 20 and worked intrastate almost a year.
