    Go to UPS freight and work on the docks then get into their driver training program. Become a UPS freight driver, stop thinking that you need to go to some of these crap companies to be a slave. UPS has a hub in that area from what I was told and hires people to work the docks.

    Ive been trying. My dad has been working at our local UPS for 30+ years. Hes been trying his best to get me in because he knows i want to do trucking. Only downfall is that they have not had any walk through's lately

    Another option is to get a dock worker job at Old Dominion. Maybe something else? OD has a school. As I understand, it is for their own employees who want to become drivers. I've seen the opinion on here that OD is the "holy grail" of truck driving.
