Could have been a nitrous or propane bottle, or both. You can also pump methanol into the intake. It fuels, and cools at the same time.

Never thought of that.Have you ever heard of using a turbo boost sensor from a mid 90s GM vehicle.Had a mechanic tell me I could get 50 or 60 lbs of boost. Claims it’s basically the same part only with different limits. If I took his advise for my million mile 12.7 I don’t think it would last a week!!! I just wonder if it’s true and how much boost is safely possible on a stock engine

Yes, but only works on pre egr engines. I think it just is a map sensor. That helps overfuel engine. Not sure how it works. But have someone re program the ecm is the correct thing. Ddec 4 ecms can hold 3 flash files for power rating I think.
Nobody will try to reprogram a ddec 3 ecm anymore they do not communicate with laptop programs, or software. You need a old style hand held nexcliq or similar name.

I would reall like to get my truck completely redone. Been at it slowly by the time I get done I’ll be starting over again!!! It’s an 01 Classic 84” w/ 285 WB. It must have sat at factory for a year based on build date. Engine build date of Nov 99.I just keep driving it easy meanwhile.keeps on ticking. Never kept a truck this long.I hear so many horror stories about emissions repairs of 10k and up!!! Don’t want any part of that.I can almost get an OH for that. Trucks never been on a hook in 9 yrs. Only in shop 1 x trans 1 x clutch about 8 yrs ago.Needs a clutch now debating on doing myself this week.Needs rear main seal and rear engine plate/cover resealed been told 30 hrs labor.Been debating on that or Getting front main seal and bull gear and Radiator done first. Looks like the decision is clear now as clutch is out of adj and broke a few more springs!! The goal is to have it ready for an inframe soon.Meanwhile not blow it up either. Anyway I appreciate all the info. More than I’ve ever learned over the years

I will give one more for referance example only. I am currently driving a 579 pete with an 13 speed manual, 3.25 axle gears, and a 455hp mx 13 tq unsure. But here right now truck is in derate so power is around 350hp and tq is reduced to 75% output so id guess tq is about 1300 in derate now. I can still go up hill faster than people who can't shift well, and Mont Eagle I can top at around 30mph. Power is not a big deal with 80,000 gross. Gearing is the most important thing to do the job at hand. But fuel use is also a big factor so keep that pedal off the floor.
