Your not an employee of yourself to start with. If your operating under their authority your not operating as your own company, but as a lease / Operator for your employer. If you pulling there wagon you better be pulling their freight.

If you go back to pulling your stuff even temporarily remove their name or cover it up completely including hteir numbers.

And by the way this has nothing to do with DOT. You need some business classes.

He didn't do the lumping on this one or assist...but they require you to stay with the truck and or supervise loading/unloading to make sure that damage to trailer doesn't occur, if it does you are there to witness, it's in their manual. Safety says log 15 min as on duty not driving and all other time backed up to dock as off duty. They tell you they want you to run legal log and in reality they want you to run legal unless it will benefit them, free up hours for them to run you....

He is not running the truck during this time. I would just log it as off duty, if I was not lumping the load. JMHO

Reading your post I find myself asking the same question....Why is this guy even drivin a truck?? Sounds to me like maybe he should find a 9-5 and stick with that. I say this because if he carries the attitude towards his job the way you describe I dont see him going far in the trucking industry. You have to understand trucks are paid by how much they move, and he sounds like one that doesnt move very much. He is going to run into this no matter where he goes, oh, and if he gets bad marks on his dac he will find it even harder to find a carrier that "Runs legal". Cant say I know of any company thats not interested in makin as much money as they can, and by reading your post, he is proving to his company (and others "dac") that hes just goin to be a costly pain. JMHO

Guess he just ain't cut out for trucking as any body that's been driving any amount of time will log this way to save hours on their 70. If your in the truck you can log it anyway you want to. Just walk into the sleeper and log it as sleeper berth for pete sakes!

Was he off duty? No he was supervising an unload. Was he in the sleeper? No he was supervising an unload.

I agree most drivers would log it off duty. This guy is just staying legal by not falsifying his logbook. Way to not cave in to the pressure to make false entries into your logbook.

Sure a mark on your DAC will keep you from getting some jobs but its not the end of the world.

Recent events have led us to terminate lease agreement with an O/O. Wondering what steps are needed to ensure that person(s) are no longer using our DOT numbers and/or authority to continue hauling freight. Need to know who to contact and what they should be provided with as far as documents. Quik response would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Allow the insurance to drop and they cannot run under your authority. Plus, call the FMCSA Information Line: 800-832-5660 for more information in regards to your question.

    Best of Luck!!!!
