How many times must you be told that?
Number 1.
The vehicle is below the GVWR of 10,001 and under the regs it is not a CMV. But when it is hooked to a trailer, it is then a CMV and must log.
You must log when hauling a trailer per the DOT regs.
Number 2.
When returning from a load, it is not a CMV under the regs due to the weight.
The hours of driving do not have to be logged as driving. HOWEVER, you must log them as line 4, on duty, but not driving.
This means you are required by the DOT to log the trip back.
Number 3.
A company can have a policy that requires you to log back on line 3 just like when you went out.
ANYWAY you look at it, you will be using your hours.
NUMBER 4
When around home, not doing commercial work, it is not required to be logged.

Labor isn't regulated as long as you don't go back to driving without taking a 10 or 34 hour break. You can drive 11 hours before the end of your 14 and then work until the heat death of the universe if you like.

Big help. -
You only acquire points through an inspection. So now if you get pulled over for speeding or such, you can guarantee you'll get an inspection. So unless your prior tickets aren't on an inspection report, you won't see them. Only on your MVR. -
His intentions were good..... at the time, lol. -

Hi,
Im looking into becoming a truck driver as my father has done for 20 years or so...
I was just curious(And please forgive me if this is the wrong thread I couldn't find a better one)I had recieved a ticket for 11-12 over a year ago right before me and my wife started our divorce and I totally forgot about it(was like 150 bucks is all)and they sent multiple letters to my address(where my angry X lived)saying they would suspend my license if I didn't pay it.Well long story short I never saw these letters and it got suspended. Now the ticket is paid and my license reinstated can I still get a CDL through a school? And how bad will this effect me(First offense)Thank you -
I don't think it will affect you. Just explain what happened when they ask. It won't prevent you from getting a cdl.
