    I know my Transcraft has 24. Doonan I think is 26. And my Benson flat has 18 I think.

    No, it's not legal. It's wood (lumber). For wood, the regs requires a strap every FOUR feet, not 8.

    While over-securing (if there even IS such a thing) isn't bad, there is nothing in the regs saying a strap is needed every 4' for dressed lumber.

    You need to secure each tier in a manner that prevents parts of the bundles from moving. Other than that, strap spacing is consistent with any other load.
