You are absolutely correct and after I posted what I did, I wish I hadn't. What I should have suggested is that if you are looking to attract someone with flatbed experience, you are going to have to offer them a better opportunity than what they already have. ie...I drive a 2012 cascadia with apu, get health, dental, paid vacation. Am in my second year and am at .42 a mile with tarp, detention, stop pay ect. Just got a .01 cent raise as of april 1 so I will be at .44 cents a mile and tarp pay got raised to to $25.
Now .40 is good compared to what some guys pulling a box are making, but I think you want someone with flatbed experience.
So again, I apologize for my remark and wish you the best in finding someone to drive your truck for you. I actually admire you for owning your own trucks and doing the o/o thing which I would love to do some day.
Need flatbed driver asap.

No mention of tarp and or securement pay? Might wanna add that too. Your description as a whole is too hazy. If its straight 40 cpm I wouldn't do it. Put out all the details and you might get a bite. Tryin to help ya. I've passed up jobs because important details weren't given.

There's far too many people that put an emphasis on "new" equipment! Give me something that's not electronic!Southpaw7391 Thanks this. -
Still, with all the requirements,is who you hire responsible for taxes, workmen's comp, and also, what about deadhead?
If I am responsible for my own taxes, etc.,, .40 would be way to low for me to bother,I think I would just buy my own truck.
Oh,oh,posting in a comment way,huh? -

I am considering doing what the other owner operator is doing that parks at our yard and hauls for the same company is doing, he is giving his guys 25% of the line haul. But his guys do OD loads only and bring in the big bucks. If I could find a guy that is OD qualified then I could go the route of 25% of the line haul pay.
I already pay workers comp insurance thru this company. For some reason they do not pay a tarp fee usually, I asked this already.
The truck is a 2003, but I promise it is very well taken care off and really clean. I do not put with trashing out my equipement and like it to stay clean.JimTheHut Thanks this. -
Looking for Flatbed driver with experience, I will pay you 20% of what the linehaul pays. Unfortunatly no benefits, I'd rather 1099, but can talk to my CPA about doing taxes on the driver.
