Thank you for that information about the Hope Grant, because I am not going to attend where I am now anyhow. I am moving out of here. ;)

I paid for my own school and got the endorsments and was Hired right out of school by Schneider Bulk, it's going great and they teach you alot in the 11 day orientation(have to pass a bunch of tests too) and 2 weeks with a TE. Your attitude makes a big difference, you will be fine, good luck to you!

If you going with a truck driver training school, when getting pre-hires, find a company that doesn't send you with a trainer but run you as a team! Find one that will actually train you, a trainer sleeping while your driving, isn't training! Melton truck lines will actually train you. Trainer is in the passenger seat while your driving, best of luck

OTR would also be quite difficult for someone who is caring for elderly parents as well.

10/9/2006, my 2 sisters called me back, from Wichita KS to Hartford CT, to help care for our elderly mother.

    11 months later, our mother passed away, (5/31/1921 - 9/30/2007), age 86.

Our father had passed away 26 years earlier, (8/30/1921 - 7/2/1981), age 59, due to leukemia.

My 2 sisters and I spent the next 2 years, (2007- 2009), going through and settling our deceased parents estate.

I returned to Wichita KS in 2009.

I had to start all over at a different job altogether, due to the circumstances going on at the time.

Again, it would be quite difficult for someone going OTR when they have parental elder care responsibilities to take care of.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
