I had another truck with a recurring def problem that dealers with lap tops couldn't fix.
One day in Carlisle it derated to 5 mph
    Called a road service
A guy in a truck showed up and asked if I get def at Loves
    I said yes
He went into the unit, pulled out a thin tube from it, looked through it.
Then he got a coat hanger from his truck, straightened it, and cleaned out the tube.
I never again had a problem with that truck.

This derate business is bullsh... if you pardon my french. WTH? Come on. A engine must work to it's full horse. This derating business shows me that the engineers are excessively cowards at the possibility of losing a engine over stuff that it can sweat out a while. Being a gallon short something does not mean end of the world. Come on... If you are going to have good strong tough trucks, make em so. This is one reason I dont buy new cars. The auto brake, lane assist and so forth is crap to me. I don't need that telling me what to do every time I cough....
