scottlav46 and 1278PA Thank this. -
Remember to get out and look it can give you a completely different view of where you need to move it next... The way I back is I envision my tractor as a big wheel on front of the trailer and I have to change the direction that wheel is facing to push the trailer into position.... If that makes no sense to you forget I mentioned it... I have been told many times by teachers that they don't understand how I get to my conclusions... Was even once told in middle school I would no longer have to explain how I got the answer to the math problems in front of class (teacher would go around and we would each explain one problem) cause even though my answer was right I was just confusing the rest of the class by how I got there
Boattlebot and Velli Thank this. -
I never had much taking the free looks and pull ups, I got it down I would just reset totally
Velli Thanks this. -
I think you're giving too much steering input. Plus, aren't you allowed two pull-ups? Steer slower and shallower (less wheel turning) and watch the ### of the trailer. You have to envision where it will end up at that particular trajectory.

You always turn INTO the problem. It's been forever since i've done cones, if ever.... but... maybe this will help if i can find it..stand by.
Scottie took a half hour to help a newbie; watch how he guides and spots him. Some peeps here pick on @scottied67 but actually he's got some educational info. See if this helps. Wishing you the best, driver. It's just second nature after so many years, that's why different trainers tell you different things........ they all have their own "theories!"
The slow and shallow as mentioned above is true, as well. You are probably over-steering...just keep plugging away at it, bro. It will be like riding a bike before too long. I can do offsets better than the straight lines anymore, but... I'd probably fail today's cone tests, anyway. Just check out some vids, and remember...slow and shallow, like ^^ he said. and turn INTO the problem.
I've never been a trainer, because it's hard to convey this stuff.
Just keep at it, and find your OWN sweet spots(s)~!!swaggerjacker and x1Heavy Thank this.
