Theres more on that CDL test than just driving and the commercial driving laws.

Son, try operating a CMV in both ignorance of and violation of the laws you refer to and tell me again they "are not needed to drive the truck"!! They are the foundational rules for the field we play on!!

hate to be the one to break the bad news to you..but as a professional truck driver...you ARE required to know the regulations and laws...of course you cant/wont know all the state laws or all the regs, but you need to be familiar with them..and there are several regs that YOU BETTER KNOW.. and as for logs books, yeah you must know about them in order to be legal.....wow..i was feeling bad up to this point that y'all were being so harsh....

And yet, they are needed. They are absolutely needed. The fact that you feel they're not needed kind of suggests that you're a person who likes to operate outside of the law. Are you such a person? If so, this industry doesn't need you.

Wow that's one heck of a read. Anything you think you know you don't. If you make it to school you'll wash out with that attitude and if the crappy school passes you just to keep your money the company you sign on to train with will send you home I know my company will in a heart beat.

It is important to know them. Im not saying its not inportant to know, but just because you dont know most of those rules dont mean you cant drive a truck. Theres tons of truck drivers driving out there that dont even meet the requirements
