Nowadays person driving car has to have credit card in his/her/its? name. Not so with airlines.

 

True that, but why no credit card? 6 years(supposedly) on the road, and no credit card?

 

Well if this is true they have 110 trucks . Heard they were a decent company at one time.

Some people don't want credit cards.
Most people have them because they spend/live up to the limit, or beyond their means.

 

Cause they operate off a debit card?

 

I got that, but this a prime example why it’s a good idea to have one in case of emergency.

 

Everybody is missing the point here, OP claims employer closed up, driver screwed himself making a bee-line to the yard to return truck, should have found the closest truck stop, and made a game plan before returning the truck.

It depends on the "false pretenses" he mentions. "Route back to terminal for maintenance" then he gets back and they tell him to clean out the truck? Not much you can do there. The only thing the guy wouldve done wrong is not keeping an emergency fund.

After 6 years the guy should have known better, always keep $1000 available just in case, with a wife and dogs in the mix $2000 probably would have been better.
