A few years ago another married couple had the same problem. I told them to quickly apply for another trucking job. It worked. They were sent bus tickets from where they were stranded to the new company.
    Their laptop saved the day.

Even if you have no money and no credit cards, you’re telling me neither you nor your wife has any friends or family members back home that can float you some money or rent you a car? None?

If you actually have enough money a credit card can be very beneficial. I've used mine as my primary payment card for years and just pay it off every single week. It protects me from fraud since banks don't like charge backs and basically treat every transaction as final, while a credit card is much more likely to find in your favor if your card gets stolen or there's other fraudulent activity. I also have it to help with my credit history and credit score. Lots of reasons to have a credit card, but not many I could think of not to.

Having the two dogs kinda complicates that idea though.

Why is the driver’s car not at the yard?
Don’t know anything about the company, do they have multiple yards? OP stated they were routed to ‘the yard’ not ‘a yard’.

    We
Well,we've butted heads before, and I don't think you got this right. I don't think they are lying, and isn't asking for a handout, yet, just wants some info on what to do, the primary purpose of this site, besides complaining. I see husband/wife teams sprout up, with high hopes, only to be screwed like this person. 1st,,,,"Blitz"? Why drive for a crappy named outfit in the 1st place? Blitz isn't Walmart or Swift. 2nd, a little research can eliminate a lot of frustration, as shown here. Lot's of people don't have a credit card, and good for them. It's the #1 source of scams and will surely do our country in, if it hasn't already..
To the original poster, if they are close to what they owe you, cut your losses and chalk it up to bad experience, and go work for a REPUTABLE company, not something named "Blitz". Get home, somehow, family? and maybe rethink your work options. Trucking, with a few exceptions, is the worst possible job to have today. I think you found out why. Good luck, pal.

No problem, we don't always agree. If you think the guy is righteous then you get in touch with him and you send him money or whatever it is he needs. So far all you've done is dump on him for the name of the company he was employed by and for being a truck driver in general. That wasn't helpful at all.
So, see what happens when you help the guy and report back, okay?

Several companies allow 2 dogs. Might be a problem with a bus company though. Some companies provide a rental car for new hires to get to orientation.

Hi REO, my laptop is frying, so I'll be brief. I don't recall them asking for any monetary help, they are reaching out to us in a desperation mode, I'd hope YOU, would be more compassionate, ESPECIALLY on a site like this. My point about the name speaks volumes. No wonder they got hired, to a fly by night name like BLITZ. Would YOU drive for a company named BLITZ? I wouldn't, and companies like BLITZ, are depending on good folks with good intentions, to exist. In 2 weeks they will reorganize into um, IDK, SHMUTZ trucking, and so it goes. YOU must remember, YOU have YEARS of experience, these people are on a new venture, and while I've lost all hope with this society we're in today, I haven't lost faith in people, especially ones that come to TTR for help, even if it is my outdated info, some still apllies. I'm not dumping on them for the company they chose, they don't know a good company from a bad one. Well, guess how they found out? I think you, as part of the staff, should be more compassionate on a site like this, leave the negativity to people like me. I don't think as a newcomer, they felt very "Welcome". You should know the BS'ers by now, and I don't think you made the right call here. Peace.
Now, off to Wally World for yet another laptop. About 2-3 years of complaining is about all you get, another scam,,,,
