I graduated a school . Got my class A . No experience. Had a couple interviews from DOT Foods . Mclane foods . Even got my interview with Melton flatbed . And finally an equipment operator. The question I have is if I decide to be an equipment operator for my 1st 6 months will that be enough verifiable tractor trailer experience. To start with this tanker company that needs at least 6 months ? I dont wanna waste 6 months in the oil field if I could have gotten all my experience with melton or the others . I’m transitioning from civilian military to start my career as a future tank driver .
Need help deciding on what to do .

No. I delivered to gas stations in SF were alot of OTR drivers flat out refused to go. It is considered local work and a bunch of OTR companies told me I was considered a new driver. This was a few years back so let others chime in in case things have changed.

Jump right into tankers; don't waste time with anything else.
