Hello everyone i have an idea that i would like to get you guys opinion on. I am about to start a small trucking company (i know i am reinvent the wheel). I would like to get my authority allow others to run under it and I also woud like to provide bookkeeping, dispatching, and tax preparation service for o/o. I would like to know what the o/o expect out of a company? Please feel free to share to share past experiences too. Thanks for your time.

Perhaps you could share with us what your background is. Things like education, work history in the transportation industry, and most importantly...... Just how much money you won in the lottery.
-
You have a good idea but its far from new, good luck. One bit of advice I can give is dont try to grow too fast, too soon. Better provide some background info so we can get a better idea of whats happening.

I'd expect $3/mi plus fsc and only want to run where and when I feel like it.
Got it? -
you can make a million dollars real fast with this idea---start with 2 million.
anyhow good luck.

I served in the USMC for four years and my MOS was Logistics. I graduated from San Jacinto (North) with an ### in International Business and Logistics and at the end of this year I will be graduating from Texas A&M with a BS in Maritime Business Admin. I am putting myself thru school working for my cousin trucking company. I really enjoy helping o/o succeed. So personally I really do not want to go and work for a big Logistics firm and just become some mindless drone in management worrying about the shareholders.

OK, so I know you have the degrees and some exp. with logistics. I would highly suggest you trying to get a SUCCESSFUL veteran o/o to be part of your team or get a couple of years driving as an o/o successfully BEFORE adding on. Im a one truck show and am successful and know others that are like me. I hope you dont plan on lease purchasing, as this might prove to be a quick fail to a company. Be prepared as you have a big agenda that can be done but is failed by most who try. As chester cheetoh says " It aint easy, being cheesy"
