anyway lets hope he will start the engine. BTW that small hand pump is able to make 100 psi in fuel filter housing if works properly. I guess he will need to change that small hand pump. I don't know j-47912 can make 95 psi .
Need help from any DD16 guru's.

I checked the filters. They are clean... And I did the hand pump the other day for about 20 Minutes straight... Not kidding and didn't stop. I actually got blood blisters on my hands from it. Lol and it didn't even attempt to fire. I know the hand primer works because I use it everytime I change the filters.
I'm still waiting on fitting which should arrive today. Once I get it, I'm gonna try and pump fuel through and also pump fuel through while I turn it over. So we'll see what happens. -
I've used the fuel vent hose on the fuel tanks to add a small amount of compressed air which the check valve holds in each tank . Pumped primer a bit and it normally starts right up then I slowly open fuel tank cap to release pressure
mhyn Thanks this. -
I just used the hand primer again and if I do it slowly I can hear the fuel filling the primer up after I release it. Sounds bubbly though, as if Its sucking in air and fuel. Maybe the primer went bad recently and it's just pushing and sucking the same fuel in and out. Or there's a check valve somewhere that's stuck

OEM Bosch Diesel Hand Primer - Replaces screw-down type. Fits MANY applications! -
That's the kind I have. I'm gonna tear it apart and see if I can see anything worn in it. My fitting for the primer comes in tomorrow so I'm just gonna use that instead of spending more money.

Yeah, I'd be very curious if your hand primer has a leak in it. It does sound bubbly to you--so it is quite possible.
-
I took it apart and pumped it with it off the truck and it seemed to push fuel. But it would be to hard to tell if it's bad once there is pressure. Owell. My external pump comes in today so I'll just prime the system that way.

Can anybody tell me what the thread count and diameter of the quick connect fitting is? I still haven't got it but I need to get a hose barb/thread adapter to put between the pump hose and QC.
