I use it just for people like yourself and the other haters.

I've been there 5-1/2 years. Started with a '12 Cascadia and $800 in my pocket.

    Flash forward til now -
$550K house ( new house / went up $100K in a year thanks to Joe Bananas )
50th anniversary SS Camaro I bought new that's paid for.
    3 Cascadias ( 2 are paid for )
Still got couple hundred U's in the bank

I've pulled 2 loads in the last two months.

However, you and the rest of the haters, that don't even work there, or never have, please keep flapping your gums.

I have listened to guys slam Landstar and state they wouldn’t touch it with a 10’ pole.

Then listen to others who love it, and you couldn’t pry em away with a 10’ pole.

I believe both perspectives to be accurate of what you can expect here. Pass or fail results are very much in your hands here. Some people find it difficult to transition from a company that dispatched them for the most part, to being solely responsible for finding the better freight.

That means learning to “talk” to agents and smell em out. And learning from your mistakes. And just because there’s $1 freight on the board, that doesn’t mean it’s one of your options. I mean, just cuz there’s peas and carrots on the buffet, that doesn’t mean I gotta put em on my plate. I’ve learned that sometimes I can even chat up the chef, and before you know it I talked him into deep frying a couple Oreos. Oreos good.

I’ve been here since early 2020. There’s been $1 freight on the board since I’ve been here. I’m still gonna eat.

Times are tougher everywhere. Fail faster at Landstarve is as good a motto as any…

You've just said yourself Landstarve is tough, rates in toilet and now you've pulled only 2 loads in 2 months.

I would expect better from a place taking a big percentage of your revenue.

I've talked to Landstar drivers, I've seen their load board demo. Not impressed.
Its easy to make money when the market is good. What's that large percentage given away getting you now? "Rates in the toilet", no better than anywhere else.

Prime has a deal where they will help you get into a new truck and become an owner operator. I think you you can even get started in business with zero money down. They totally help you find loads too.

Of course they are, If you had a good thing going would you announce it? And then have all the bottom feeders come in and cut your rate?

If you were leasing onto a company with their own direct customers that wouldn't matter

Leasing onto a place with brokers like Landstar yeah they can offer to do it cheaper.
