Amazing what you can accomplish in one day, if you're smart enough to ask for a little assistance!
And you go to the only good trucking forum on the whole world wide web !!!! -
yeah.. I talked to him after I talked to Memphis.... Chris was awesome to deal with... Hopefully I will be seeing you guys soon!
Just got to figure out how to get to Alabama and back next week...lol.
any ideas on that???..lol -
yeah...thanking God I found this place online! -
Romans, This is the place to be, But once you get thru all of this you know you will need to do your "Community Service" right? That would be just like these guys have done for you, to do for someone else in the same shoes you are now, You don't know it now but these guys are painstakingly right in what they are telling you to do, If you do what the doctors tell you to the end result will be amazing!! I have been on here 5-6 months and I have learned loads about all kinds of stuff including trucking(imagine that!!) and who to contact, I also learned that there is a common "Brotherhood" that reaches out to those like you and pulls you into the shelter gives you clean dry clothes(knowledge and understanding and a way to get what you want)and tell you how to do whatever you are needing to do and then they send you back out into the storm with the equipment you need to be successful(to stay dry and warm and know what to do in every situation driving or just obsticles along the road of life), So now pull your hat down cowboy and let's ride!. If there is anything we can do to help you please ask where you may be able to find it. We are here to help and as soon as you get back from your "Cowboy ride" we expect you to help those in need as well, See it is like this do for those that need help and then they in turn help others who are now in those shoes where you have come from a big group hug if you want to think of it that way, I'm not to excited about a group hug from grown men but there are a few cute ladies who can hug every now and again....LOL. I'm rambling now. Take Care treydavid.
P.S. I should welcome you to the forum since that is what I started this post for.Schmidtrock Thanks this. -
Just a quick update. Called a career center in Alabama near where I want to live, and they told me I meet the criteria to get help from WIA even though I am a out of state resident.
So now I have two chances to get my CDL. Now I just have to get up to Hamilton Alabama to get the new DL and talk to the career center!
If WIA covers the costs of the school, do they cover the DOT physical and CDL fees? Or no?Schmidtrock Thanks this. -
That is great news,
somebody will answer your 2 questions, but I'd guess No !!!
Still, it's great news !!!!!! -
talked to the driving school and they cover the cost of the DOT physical... and will reimburse me the cost of the CDL fees upon graduation.
Anyone coming out of Florida next week that can deadhead me to Alabama?...rofl -
That DOT physical will pretty much only be good the the school. Most large carriers will required you to get another one with one of the doctors on their list. -
