If you get trapped or turn down a road that’s obviously not safe or suitable for a big truck , Stop immediately, activate the flashers and pick up the cell phone and call the local cops and ask for them to send someone out to stop traffic so you can safely back out onto the larger road you were on .
99.9% of cops would much rather help you turn around than work the accident and fill out a ton of forms for the accident report .
I’ve gotten into fog so bad I literally couldn’t see the end of the hood , all I could do was open the door and look down at the yellow line , so I just stopped.
And after about ten minutes the fog cleared up .
you always have choices , YOU are the captain of the ship.
but two serious , easily preventable accidents in six months might be a career ender.
you should be able to look at a loading dock or parking space or road and tell if your rig can fit or not .
if you can’t do that , you need to stick to driving something a lot smaller .
if a job can be found for you , Chinatown is the man that can find it .
Atlanta is a major transportation hub
and be super careful anytime you’re in any vehicle
your CDL and your driving record is your moneymaker
if you get a moving violation , do NOT just plead guilty and pay it , figure out a plan to negotiate a lower charge or hire a lawyer to get it reduced to a non moving violation .
the company I work for has a fleet of pickup trucks , but the companies insurance carrier will not let anyone drive if if they’ve had more then two moving violations in three years or two accidents in three years .
And usually accidents come with moving violations , so one accident and the ticket that comes with it , and you better not get another one for three more years or you can’t drive the company trucks and you can’t drive you own vehicle on company business either , so you’re out of a job or chained to a desk in the office .Last edited: Nov 2, 2022
