BATTLE? Nah...I "battle", most others discuss! You ask WHY? Because I'm verbose!!! I like my words...especially the ones I don't get to use most of the time at T/S Coffee Counter Cluster Discourse!

EXACTLY! Which is the main reason I started "The Hijack Club" thread....at that time there were many on this forum that would get all upset when a poster would come in and drift away from, or completely change the OP topic.....but....in any conversation/discussion the "topic point" drifts in and out, and the discussion continues, bringing in new and old ideas, fresh perspectives, and in the better interest of those involved, new friendships might be created.

Very true! This forum is comprised of a variety of individuals, and a variety of "background topic groups"....Bad company, good company, 4 wheeler questions, experienced driver, new driver, politics, religion, and the list goes on....just because I am a truck driver NOW, my background prior to trucking was fire/rescue. Does that mean since I am a trucker, I should only discuss trucking issues, or should I attempt to recapture incidents and events from my previous background and share them here? I think the broader the spectrum, the more diverse the discussion can become.

I see your point, and I agree, our friend brisms does seem to appear and attempt to steer newbies away from this industry....but he is entitled to his opinion, and to share it with others.

    I don't get it! ?????

I trained/Mentored for Swift for 10+ years, in that time, I was given many students who were fortunate enough to find out early they weren't cut out for OTR, and several who were just not compatible with driving a big rig. In both cases, it was my job, my duty, to offer them my "experienced counsel"...if this meant to tell them straight up they would not fit in this endeavor so be it, save them the time and frustration and get them moving in a different direction. Far better to be honest and up front with them, than to fill them with false praise and push them into something they obviously don't like, and will probably never enjoy.

Besides....how much of your "personal time or effort" did you lose in those 2-3 days? And....wouldn't your experience be better given to an individual that truly wanted this for a life and a living?

    Umm,

Not to hijack the thread, but if you never made it to Boot, you did not receive an Honorable Discharge as it would have been considered "Entry level" also known as an "Uncategorized" discharge.......

    BTW, thanks Flo.
