No, just adding to the headaches with a fuel saver! I'm going to teach my cousin the ins and outs or at least the bit I know and turn him loose in it.

@D.Tibbitt shut Down is the least of your worries. It’s the fines that will make you wonder it was just cheaper to spend the $800 or so on permits or even less.

I don’t think you need IFTA simply because the Trucks not working. At this point it’s a personal vehicle. I’d still write off fuel costs. Rental, hotel etc. as Business costs. Can’t file anything with IFTA anyways till it’s in your name, and has a sticker. Most States allow Driving a vehicle home with Bill of sale, and clear Title. Don’t know the Laws in every State though. Ohio may issue you a temporary plate. I did that in Ga. When I bought mine. The deal went through a Chrysler Dealership. They issued the paper temp plate. Actually pulled a couple Loads via Louisiana on my way home. Had the sellers plate on the Trailer. That was risky. But I took my chances. Main thing is having insurance to avoid a financial disaster. Anything else can be dealt with. The proper way would be to get Title, plate, in your State first. I did that for my first Trailer. I worried too much at the time. It’s your Authority though. Do what you’re comfortable with. Don’t take my advice. I’d run it home. Probably on the weekend, and avoid scales just in case. It’s no different than driving a car home. Except that it’s a class 8, and you have the CDL License to operate it. DOT Officer can argue you’re obviously on Company Business, that’s why I’d have a log book just in case you run into that guy. Though you really don’t need one. I’ve been shut down for 10 hrs. in Pa. once for bobtailing on a weekend without a log book. They were wrong, but it didn’t matter.

Forgot to mention, the way I brought my truck over was I got the permits the day before I was going to cross the state. Reason was if anything happened to go wrong on the trip, I wasn’t out the permit money. Waiting in repairs.

It’s only $100.00 because the passengers have to parachute out of the plane over Detroit as the plane is to scared to land anywhere near that craphole city.

When we brought the 93 home from Texas I'm pretty sure the guy gave us fake numbers on a cardboard plate Lol. Had not for hire stickers on it already and had no issues. Crossed a bunch of coops on the way home
