For Schneider bulk do you have to live close to a terminal or customer? I'm about 4 hours rom the Fox Valley WI and I know they're looking for tanker drivers over there. I'm on the other side of the state between Lacrosse WI and Dubuque IA.

    Thanks

Look on Schneider website and search for jobs in your state.

Not necessarily too much work, just a lot more things that can go wrong. And with my DBL talking about how their drivers are screwing up and Schneider is ruining their DAC records due to said screw ups, and some of the nasty chemicals we're expected to handle, and the thought of full PPE in the middle of July in Houston TX made van a much more relaxed and laid back atmosphere. Bulk definitely did have a way more rewarding feeling to it though, but they were giving me the gravy runs trying to set the hook in my mouth before I would be relegated to the usual lame short runs that everyone was complaining about.

You and I must have different definitions of work. Since I switched from van to tankers, I've been able to spend much more time at home. And I've made significantly more money, too. To me, chasing miles feels like work and to be honest I just really don't want to have to drive 3000+ miles a week in order to make a decent income. Slinging hoses really isn't that much work, and in my opinion it's far preferable to, say, fighting stubborn tandems that don't want to slide.

I agree with Henley. That's why I went back to tanks. I chase miles, but am also home once through the week and off on the weekends (or at least for a 36 hr restart from Sat afternoon till Monday morning.)

I did check the website before and it showed you needed to live in the Fox Valley to drive tanker. I just checked it again and it shows Madison now as well,as long as you can leave a personal car there. Where in Madison does Schneider have a drop lot or a place for a personal car to be parked at? Madison is only 2 hours away from where I live. It's better than the 4 hours to the Fox Valley.
