That right there is why you NEVER trust ANY GPS. New, old, gold plated or otherwise. It may get you there.......eventually! Live and learn!

I agree, but my dezl was 99.9% spot on, my Otr700 is acting like a uber driver. Extending the route after I make the turns. Gonna stick my dezl model.

I have a garmin. It has no idea. I plan my route MY WAY. Garmin usually catches up. You have to remember......there are at least a half dozen ways to get from point A to point B. ONLY ONE BEST WAY. Pick your route, write it down with pen and paper. It'll get you there every time.

I’ve never come from the west. Coming from the east the signs direct you to the scale.

That i get, but man i dont want to break out the sextant and a compass for a DV route. I leave that to the gps lady, i was just thrown off by how two units from the same company work differently, one screws up the other works fine. In this case i should have had both on to make sure the new one is as good. My dezl only has failed me when it called 100 feet out the I15 not a truck route because there was construction. All other times its worked flawlessly. It still put the OTR700 to shame after i was able to turn it on.

When you input the destination and the gps suggests a route , you don’t scroll out and follow the route to see if it makes sense ?

I always do that , even when I’m not in a commercial vehicle .

you can’t just blindly trust a gps .
You gotta be like Ronald Reagan, “trust , but verify “

Everyone made fun of me a while back when I suggested that actually looking at a paper atlas map and making notes on paper was a good plan.

why spend ten minutes doing that when you can just trust the flawless gps ?

I scroll out, in this case it was taking me through vale which I didn’t want. So I took the 40 knowing it will adjust once I hit New Mexico, than I made a rookie mistake of trusting the gps. I was already tired and my shift was almost over. When I woke up next morning I corrected it. It won’t happen again.
