Friday I spent the entire day climbing the ladder. I now have Peterbilt (Paccar) and Rush corporate on this. They all said they wish I had contacted them sooner. My response "why is it MY job to tell your service centers when to get more help"? The one consensus is this, everyone agrees that two and a half months is too long to be dealing with this. They are all on board with finding a solution BUT...
Nobody seems to be too worried about the fact that I have not earned a paycheck for three months and I am out of money. When they took the exhaust manifold off they broke a bolt (manifold is no good), they tried to warm me up to the idea that I might be paying for that.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can convince these people that I have NO MONEY left and can't pay ANYTHING. They don't seem too concerned about that. Then again they don't seem too concerned that I was also fired from the company I was leased on to (funny how not showing up for three months is frowned upon).
I just don't see Paccar Engines being a viable alternative to Cummins. If its new then Paccar would just call it a lemon and give me a new truck, I would not have paid money for what has already been done, etc... But if truck owners can't sell used trucks (no warranty) with Paccar Engines they will eventually realize what Teresi Trucking in California has figured out, that they are stuck with these trucks for years because nobody wants to buy them with Paccar Engines so they buy Cummins equipped trucks new now. Why can't Paccar see the future?

Can you imagine hearing the engineers in Denton TX who designed and built this engine telling you that they just don't know what is wrong? Time for a trip to Saint George UT.

11 weeks, close to 500 hours of diagnostic time, dozens of sensors switches and servo's. Over $7,000 in parts out of my pocket, countless thousands in lost revenue... Every service rep and engineer that Paccar can find and still NO IDEA what is wrong.
Did I mention RUN AWAY FROM PACCAR AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!!

    NWAF Thanks this.

I understand your frustration but is it fair to blame Paccar?
Your problem could still be something with the after treatment system.
All my problems so far with my Paccar powered T680 have been with the after treatment end.

Get a printout of the warranty work done on that truck...... To see If it was truly a problem child. If it was I'd pull my plates off it and walk away.

And talk to a lawyer .

P.S. I wouldn't pay any of those Repair orders that are still outstanding .....

It's a mx (paccar engine) so I'd say it is fair.........

Engine manufacturer owns the aftertreatment system......

I do have the history. The only issue was a turbo replacement 100K ago. No other warranty work.
I do blame Paccar, they designed the truck, engine, and after treatment. People who think Cummins built that after treatment have not spent hours on the phone talking to Paccar engineers. Paccar borrowed technology from Cummins but it is all Paccar built equipment in the after treatment system on my truck.
Does it matter if Paccars engine or their after treatment can't be repaired? To quote Hillary Clinton "what difference does it make at this point"? Fact is, I have a truck that can't be repaired by the people who designed and built it. Ive been on the phone for a week trying to find someone who can work on my truck... Nobody but Paccar has the software to work on my truck. So, if I were to go to St George, who would I get to change an injector or turbo in a few months when something breaks? NOBODY! I am stuck with a truck that won't run, the builders of the truck can't fix it, and if I eliminate the cause (after treatment) they won't touch my truck.
    Any ideas?

Take the truck back where you bought it with a lawyer and all your documents concerning your issues.

Let them work it out and move on.

Sorry, but that's what I'd do.
